Software: Adobe Photoshop CS 5.1

Tutorial: Blue LightingTV YouTube Channel (sot of)

Engraved or etched images are not very common, but before the invention of photography, it was a common method of creating images for printing. Photography quickly replaced due to the fact it was easier, quicker, cheaper and created a more accurate image. Thank you Mr. George Eastman.

Earth Day Poster

earthday-globe-poster

Software: Adobe Photoshop CS 5.1

Tutorial: BakaArts YouTube Channel & Iceflow Studios YouTube Channel

If you have seen my “Earth from Space” posting – https://davidhubbs.wordpress.com/2013/04/29/earth-from-space/  then you you should be able to see where I got the directions for creating the space part of this image. The other part of this image was influenced by BakaArts tutorial to create a tree in half a glass sphere. I decided that I wanted a whole sphere, but with major cracks in it.Slowly the image became an “Earth Day” poster.

I also designed the “Earth Day 2014” logo to finish the image. The www.earthday.org website is a real site with tons of interesting information about the environment. It is most definitely worth a visit.

Software: Adobe Photoshop CS 5.1

Tutorial: Blue LightingTV YouTube Channel

Time to break out the old cyan-red 3D glasses and enjoy some old-school Anaglyphic 3D images. Lets face it, 3D in movies was usually just a gimmick. There are a few cases where 3D does make a movie better (Avatar and Hugo are two cases that come to mind), but mainly they were a way to make fair to poor movies stand out…. and that’s alright.
